Act, a bill that would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/politics\/25\/04\/45077654\/bill-named-after-nancy-pelosi-could-ban-congress-members-from-trading-stocks-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-pelosi-act\">ban members of Congress<\/a> from buying and selling stocks, options and ETFs.<\/p>\n<p>Benzinga recently broached the subject in a reader poll.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Should members of Congress be allowed to invest in cryptocurrency?&#8221; we asked. Here are the results:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No, they shouldn&#8217;t be able to invest in cryptocurrencies: 48%<\/li>\n<li>Yes, as long as they disclose: 30%<\/li>\n<li>Yes, but through ETFs and not actual cryptocurrencies: 15%<\/li>\n<li>Yes, they don&#8217;t need to disclose: 8%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The poll found that nearly half of voters said that members of Congress shouldn&#8217;t be able to invest in cryptocurrency. Only 30% supported the current method of allowing them to invest as long as they disclose.<\/p>\n<p>Eight percent said let Congress members buy and sell cryptocurrency without needing to disclose.<\/p>\n<p>Ranking third was yes to investing, but doing so through ETFs like the <strong>iShares Bitcoin ETF Trust<\/strong> (NASDAQ:<a class=\"ticker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/stock\/IBIT#NASDAQ\">IBIT<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Benzinga also asked if the cryptocurrency held by a member of Congress could impact their confidence in the Congress members financial judgement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Which crypto investment by a member &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/25\/05\/45594252\/exclusive-no-hodling-for-congress-48-say-elected-members-shouldnt-be-able-to-buy\" alt=\"EXCLUSIVE:\" no hodling for congress say elected members shouldn be able to buy cryptocurrency>Full story available on Benzinga.com<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So far, cryptocurrency is not outlined in the proposed P.E.L.O.S.I.
