It operates under its <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">own<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> legal system and courts, while businesses within the area benefit from a 0% corporate tax rate on qualifying income and no restrictions on capital repatriation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In August last year, Ripple strengthened its global presence by <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-xrp-inks-a-strategic-deal-in-the-middle-east-details\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">partnering<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> with the DIFC. A few months later, it <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-strengthens-its-presence-in-dubai-with-a-new-approval\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">received<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in-principle approval from the Dubai regulator to expand its services within the special economic area.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">RLUSD\u2019s Previous Achievements<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar officially <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/xrp-price-on-the-move-as-ripple-announces-stablecoin-launch-on-dec-17\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">saw the light of day<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in December of last year.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Initially, the exchanges that allowed trading services with it included Uphold, Bitso, Moonpay, Bitstamp, and others. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Later on, well-known names such as Gemini and Kraken also followed suit. As <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">CryptoPotato<\/span><\/em> <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/big-adoption-news-for-ripples-stablecoin-rlusd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reported<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> last week, the latest to hop on the bandwagon was Bitget, which listed the RLUSD\/USDT and RLUSD\/USDC pairs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Despite that, Ripple\u2019s financial product remains an insignificant player in the stablecoin niche, with a market cap of around $310 million. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> represents a mere 0.12% of the industry\u2019s $250 billion capitalization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is important to note that Ripple supposedly tried to increase its presence in the stablecoin sector by acquiring Circle (the company behind USDC). Several reports indicated that the company is ready to pay over $10 billion to close the deal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, Circle rejected the speculation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccn.com\/news\/crypto\/circle-sale-coinbase-ripple-multi-billion-bidding-war\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">saying<\/a> that it was not for sale.
