{"id":30563,"date":"2025-06-06T09:52:26","date_gmt":"2025-06-06T09:52:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=30563"},"modified":"2025-06-06T09:52:26","modified_gmt":"2025-06-06T09:52:26","slug":"yuga-labs-proposes-scrapping-apecoin-dao-launching-apeco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=30563","title":{"rendered":"Yuga Labs Proposes Scrapping ApeCoin DAO, Launching ApeCo"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Yuga Labs CEO Greg Solano <a href=\"https:\/\/forum.apecoin.com\/t\/sunsetting-the-dao-and-launching-apeco-a-new-operating-model-for-apecoin\/28242\/2\">filed an Ape Improvement Proposal<\/a> titled \u201cSunsetting the DAO and Launching ApeCo\u201d in a pitch to wind down the two-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/learn\/what-is-a-dao\/\">decentralized autonomous organization<\/a> and pass its assets to a new entity to &#8220;supercharge the APE ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Solano called the DAO \u201csluggish, noisy, and often unserious governance theater\u201d that funds \u201cvanity proposals and low-impact initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A leaner vehicle controlled by Yuga Labs, he argued, can \u201celiminate gridlock\u201d and push capital only to \u201chigh-caliber projects\u201d across three pillars: ApeChain, Bored Ape Yacht Club and Otherside, Yuga\u2019s metaverse bet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Under the plan, ApeCo would first top up the staking contract with 11.25 million APE ($8.3 million), reserve 10 million APE for legal and transition costs, then swallow everything else in the Foundation treasury \u2014 from tokens and domains to smart contracts.
