Despite the numerous developments that have occurred since then, however, the lawsuit has yet to reach its official conclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Earlier this week, the American attorney Fred Rispoli noted that \u201cthe status update in the 2nd Circuit looms large,\u201d and Ripple and the SEC have not moved forward with the necessary refiling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Recall that the two sides previously <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/sec-ripple-ink-50m-settlement-to-end-long-running-legal-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">agreed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that the company would pay a $50 million penalty for violating certain laws (instead of the previously ruled $125 million), which would mark the end of the legal battle. However, Judge Analisa Torres <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/important-ripple-v-sec-lawsuit-update-xrp-price-slips-5-in-response\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">denied<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the motion, asserting that the parties failed to file it properly under Rule 60.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Rispoli said the deadline for that is June 16, expecting the entities to abide by the rules by then. In case they don\u2019t, the lawyer believes the magistrates could restart the briefing process and push it for another 60 days. He described Torres\u2019 ruling as \u201cclear\u201d and claimed that Ripple and the SEC \u201cneed to beg for forgiveness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cRipple will say whatever to get it done, but how much public groveling is the SEC willing to do? And how much groveling will be authorized? We have 12 days to find out,\u201d Rispoli concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is worth noting that the attorney provided the update on June 4, with no <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">major<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> progress on the Ripple v. SEC front since then.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Other industry participants who think the following days could be crucial for the case are Bill Morgan and the X user Levi. The former <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Belisarius2020\/status\/1930398118975287641\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">argued<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that something <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">has to happen <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">by June 16<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, or the appeal and cross-appeal will continue. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For his part, Levi <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LeviRietveld\/status\/1930634419598983385\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">predicted<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that the date would mark the <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">lawsuit\u2019s official end<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Possible Impact for XRP?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The developments surrounding the case were among the <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">main<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> factors <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">triggering<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> substantial volatility for Ripple\u2019s native token over the past several years.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Since Garlinghouse\u2019s announcement in March, though, the lawsuit has been <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">largely priced<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> into XRP\u2019s valuation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Looking ahead, future price movements for the asset may depend on <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">elements<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> such as the approval of XRP ETFs or Ripple\u2019s further <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">advancement<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> and <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">possible<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> collaborations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Nearly a dozen well-known companies have announced their intentions to introduce the first spot XRP exchange-traded fund in the USA, with Grayscale, 21Shares, WisdomTree, and <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/xrp-price-catalyst-franklin-templeton-joins-growing-list-of-etf-applicants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Franklin Templeton<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> being among the examples.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Such a product will give investors an additional option to gain exposure to the asset, with many analysts viewing the potential launch as a catalyst for a price rally. <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/ripple-etf-approved-in-2025?tid=1749208938037\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">According<\/a> to <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Polymarket<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, the odds of approval before the end of 2025 stand at approximately 94%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Speaking of collaborations, it is worth mentioning that in April, Ripple <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/xrp-dumps-10-despite-ripples-1-25b-prime-brokerage-acquisition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">acquired<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the prime broker Hidden Road for a whopping $1.25 billion.
