During its first calendar year, Ethereum traded between $0.42 and $1.39 with a starting price of around $0.74 according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofi.com\/learn\/content\/ethereum-price-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SoFi<\/a>. The first Ethereum transaction was carried out on Aug. 7, 2015,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaldata.com\/data-insights\/financial-services\/ethereums-price-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according\u00a0<\/a>to Global Data.<\/p>\n<p>Ethereum gained momentum thanks to its listing on cryptocurrency platform<strong>\u00a0Coinbase Global Inc<\/strong>\u00a0(NASDAQ:<a class=\"ticker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/stock\/COIN#NASDAQ\">COIN<\/a>).
