Although both parties indeed reached an agreement <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">regarding the payment Ripple has to make, Judge Torres\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/important-ripple-v-sec-lawsuit-update-xrp-price-slips-5-in-response\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">rejected<\/a> their joint motion, which would have extended the lawsuit, and there is<\/span>\u00a0no official conclusion yet.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Torres argued that the agency and the company failed to file the motion correctly under Rule 60. As of now, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-v-sec-lawsuit-why-june-16-is-such-an-important-date\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">June 16<\/a> stands as the most crucial date for a major update about the potential resolution between the two, as the SEC must file a status update with the US Court of Appeals by that date.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous XRP Army members outlined the significance of the date, including perma-bull John Squire. Any real settlement would still require Judge Torres\u2019s final approval, which could take more time.<\/p>\n<h2>Will XRP\u2019s Price React?<\/h2>\n<p>Although June 16 could have significant implications in the legal case between Ripple and the SEC, market experts believe it won\u2019t have a big positive impact on XRP\u2019s price movements. After all, the hype surrounding the closure of the case has come and gone, and investors have already factored its resolution.
