According to legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, the U.S. is preparing a large-scale bombing campaign against Iran<\/a> over the coming weekend. Citing unnamed U.S. officials and Israeli sources, Hersh describes an operation that will \u201centail heavy American bombing.\u201d<\/p>\n

A senior Washington official told Hersh that \u201call will be under control\u201d if Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is removed from the picture. But as Hersh points out, \u201cit was unclear how that could happen short of his assassination.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allegedly, President Donald Trump is waiting for the weekend to strike so that Wall Street doesn\u2019t freak out and crash the markets<\/a>. The question now becomes, will this happen, or is it overblown?<\/p>\n

Why Now? Trump Wants to Strike on The Weekend to Avoid Market Fallout<\/h2>\n

One of the key targets is Iran\u2019s Fordow uranium enrichment site, which is home to centrifuges buried roughly 80 meters underground. The plan reportedly involves U.S. bunker bombs capable of penetrating those depths.<\/p>\n

Hersh says the operation was delayed until the weekend to \u201cdiminish shock<\/a>\u201d as Wall Street markets open Monday.<\/p>\n

Fordow recently produced nearly 900 pounds of 60% enriched uranium, just shy of weapons-grade. Hersh reports the U.S. bombers will strike it this weekend after picking up the help of regional military assets spread across the Middle East.<\/p>\n
