{"id":33880,"date":"2025-06-26T14:47:03","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T14:47:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=33880"},"modified":"2025-06-26T14:47:03","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T14:47:03","slug":"xrp-drops-following-ripples-latest-setback-in-sec-legal-battle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=33880","title":{"rendered":"XRP Drops Following Ripple\u2019s Latest Setback in SEC Legal Battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>TL;DR<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>US District Judge Analisa Torres has ruled against the SEC and Ripple in their joint motion filed earlier this year.<\/li>\n<li>The legal case between the two, which started over four and a half years ago, has yet to reach a conclusive end despite Garlinghouse\u2019s announcement in March.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">JUST IN: Judge Torres has denied <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ripple?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">@Ripple<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SECGov?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">@SECGov<\/a> joint motion for an indicative ruling. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iPzD4aMG1H\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/iPzD4aMG1H<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Eleanor Terrett (@EleanorTerrett) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EleanorTerrett\/status\/1938220830720147710?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">June 26, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Recall that Judge Torres <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/important-ripple-v-sec-lawsuit-update-xrp-price-slips-5-in-response\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">denied<\/a> the joint motion filed by the two in May as well and set a new <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/critical-deadline-for-ripple-xrp-holders-revealed\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">deadline<\/a> for June 16 by which date Ripple and the agency had to refile by fixing all prior inconsistencies.<\/p>\n<p>However, the latest update on the matter is another disappointment for both sides as the Judge has rejected the joint motion for an indicative ruling.<\/p>\n<p>Ripple and the SEC had reached an agreement between each other, as the company had to pay a relatively minor penalty of $50 million, which is a lot less than what the agency initially sought ($2 billion) or the original ruling ($125 million).<\/p>\n<p>Back in March, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse triumphantly announced that the lawsuit had ended after over four years. However, the case continues, at least for now.<\/p>\n<p>XRP\u2019s price continues to drag as it has failed to capitalize on the overall market improvement in the past few days.
