{"id":33898,"date":"2025-06-26T17:01:54","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T17:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=33898"},"modified":"2025-06-26T17:01:54","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T17:01:54","slug":"spot-doge-etf-appears-nearer-as-bitwise-amends-filing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=33898","title":{"rendered":"Spot DOGE ETF Appears Nearer as Bitwise Amends Filing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>A spot dogecoin ETF DOGE may be coming closer to reality.<\/p>\n<p>ETF issuer Bitwise updated a regulatory filing for its dogecoin ETF on Thursday, suggesting approval chances could be growing, according to one expert.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBitwise has filed amended S-1s for their spot dogecoin ETF and their spot aptos ETFs,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1938242046935884000\">wrote Bloomberg Intelligence&#8217;s Eric Balchunas<\/a>. &#8220;Good signs as it indicates SEC engagement, and tracks with other spot approvals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Also noteworthy is the fact that the dogecoin ETF filing was amended to include in-kind redemptions and creations, meaning that the broker-dealers interacting with the ETF can directly trade shares for DOGE tokens, or vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Near-lock at this point that in kind will be allowed in spot ETFs across board,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1938243673428296181\">Balchunas added<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As of right now, all U.S.-based crypto ETFs must swap their tokens for cash, then swap that cash for shares (or swap the shares for cash, then the cash for tokens), which creates a tax event.<\/p>\n<p>The news isn&#8217;t helping prices much, with DOGE lower by about 2% over the past 24 hours to $0.16.<\/p>\n<p>21Shares has also <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1927832820166123799\">filed<\/a> for a dogecoin ETF, while Grayscale has <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1885335088788869419\">filed<\/a> for a dogecoin trust with a 2.5% fee.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A spot dogecoin ETF DOGE may be coming closer to reality.
