{"id":35155,"date":"2025-07-04T06:01:41","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T06:01:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=35155"},"modified":"2025-07-04T06:01:41","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T06:01:41","slug":"ripple-usd-gets-support-from-first-global-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=35155","title":{"rendered":"Ripple USD Gets Support From First Global Bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Zug-based AMINA Bank, the Swiss crypto-focused lender regulated by FINMA, said on 3 July that it has begun offering custody and over-the-counter trading for Ripple USD (RLUSD), becoming what it <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AMINABankGlobal\/status\/1940715543641968795\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">calls<\/a> \u201cthe first bank globally\u201d to support the dollar-pegged stablecoin and giving the six-month-old token its first foothold inside the traditional banking system.<\/p>\n<h2>AMINA Bank Backs Ripple\u2019s RLUSD<\/h2>\n<p>RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody, a New York-chartered limited-purpose trust company wholly owned by Ripple Labs, and is fully backed \u201cby cash and cash equivalents\u201d held under NYDFS supervision; the token lives natively on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, allowing settlement across public and permissioned rails.<\/p>\n<p>Since its mid-December 2024 debut RLUSD\u2019s market capitalization has climbed above $440 million, while the wider stablecoin sector has swollen to roughly $263 billion\u2014both record highs that underscore accelerating institutional demand for regulated digital cash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAMINA will enable its client base of professional investors, institutions and corporations to access Ripple\u2019s stablecoin ecosystem with the security and governance clients expect from a traditional banking partner,\u201d chief product officer Myles Harrison said, praising Ripple\u2019s \u201ccommitment to transparency and compliance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The partnership deepens ties forged when the bank\u2014licensed in Switzerland since 2019 and now also regulated in Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong\u2014pivoted to act as a multi-jurisdictional bridge between conventional finance and on-chain liquidity.<\/p>\n<p>For Ripple, AMINA\u2019s endorsement follows April\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinist.com\/ripple-integrates-rlusd-into-payments-solution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">integration<\/a> of RLUSD into Ripple Payments, the company\u2019s cross-border treasury platform already live in more than 70 payout corridors, where early adopters such as BKK Forex and iSend are settling flows with the token.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement lands as the <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinist.com\/cardano-mica-ready-report-sustainability-indicators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">European Union\u2019s MiCA regime<\/a>, whose transaction-volume caps for non-e-money stablecoins took effect on 30 June 2024, forces issuers to demonstrate reserve integrity and governance discipline to maintain access to the bloc.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, Ripple <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinist.com\/ripple-seeking-banking-licenses-in-the-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">confirmed<\/a> on 2 July that it has applied for a national bank charter with the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and\u2014through its Standard Custody &amp;
