The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2025\/05\/21\/hong-kong-joins-global-race-with-new-stablecoin-licensing-bill\">city had its own stablecoin legislation<\/a> before the U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2025\/06\/17\/u-s-senate-passes-genius-act-to-regulate-stablecoins-marking-crypto-industry-win\">passed the GENIUS Act<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/consensus-toronto-2025-coverage\/2025\/05\/15\/eric-trump-says-he-got-into-crypto-amid-political-attack-calls-bitcoin-digital-gold\">speaking earlier this year at Consensus Toronto<\/a>, praised bitcoin\u2019s liquidity, calling it superior to real estate, and referred to it as \u201cdigital gold.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also expressed sympathy for the crypto community, claiming that the same group that targeted it under the Biden administration had also attacked his father, former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s brother, Donald Trump Jr., is also a regular fixture on the conference circuit and is scheduled to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/korea-blockchain-week-2025-announces-donald-trump-jr-as-keynote-speaker-with-sui-stable-and-0g-as-conference-partners-302489481.html\">speak at Korea Blockchain Week in September<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>BTC Asia will be held in Hong Kong from August 28 to 29.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/consensus-hongkong.coindesk.com\/\">CoinDesk&#8217;s Consensus<\/a> will also return to Hong Kong next February.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Trump crypto conference tour continues, with Eric Trump confirmed to speak at BTC Asia conference in Hong Kong in August.
