Read the full Pi2Day blog to learn more <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rMc0MPu9tT\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/rMc0MPu9tT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PiCoreTeam\/status\/1939416207540760816?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">June 29, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>New Node Versions<\/h2>\n<p>Beyond the launch of Pi App Studio, which aims to bridge the two worlds of AI and Pi Network, the Core Team decided to reiterate on what the Node\u2019s latest versions are, which also arrived on and after Pi2Day.<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=A5GZ-I2164A\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">video<\/a>, they explained that the key update in version 0.5.2, which was released on June 28, involved a rename: Pi Node was changed to Pi Desktop. It was followed shortly by 0.5.3, which fixed a few bugs and included Pi Node, Pi mining app, and certain utilities like the aforementioned Pi App Studio.<\/p>\n<p>According to the team, this change was needed for the app to become more accurate, easy to use, and open to future integrations into different devices like mobile and desktop. Pioneers (users, developers, and everyone in between in the Pi Network ecosystem) were advised to download the new Pi Desktop version and \u201ctake advantage of these additions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video reiterated that users who run Pi Nodes will continue to receive mining rewards since running Nodes helps the protocol\u2019s security, decentralization, and longevity.<\/p>\n<h2>PI\u2019s Price Update<\/h2>\n<p>Despite these updates, the release of new versions, and the launch of innovative products, Pi Network\u2019s native token continues to struggle. In fact, even the overall market resurgence in the last several days couldn\u2019t really propel a notable price surge for PI.<\/p>\n<p>In times when BTC <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bitcoin-hits-new-ath-altcoins-rocket-trumps-latest-tariffs-your-weekly-crypto-recap\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">charted<\/a> a new all-time high, while altcoins like <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/xlm-skyrockets-70-in-a-week-hits-0-40-on-upgrade-buzz\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">XLM<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripples-xrp-surged-to-4-month-high-4-catalysts-fueling-the-latest-rally\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">XRP<\/a>, HYPE, and others are posting double-digit gains, PI is down by over 4% in the past day.
