Cardano Hosts $100,000 Doom Tournament<\/h2>\n

On December 2, during a pre-event test, Cardano had already hit 28,500 tps. Hoskinson had hinted at the network\u2019s capacity by noting that \u201cCardano is running some BIG loads right now.\u201d The Hydra Doom Tournament serves both as a competitive gaming platform and a live demonstration of Cardano\u2019s Layer 2 scalability solution, Hydra.<\/p>\n

According to Input Output\u2019s announcement<\/a>, the tournament aims to \u201cunite thousands of players worldwide in a competitive showcase of gaming classic Doom running on the Cardano blockchain, powered by the groundbreaking scaling solution Hydra.\u201d Participants battle against AI bots designed to push the Hydra protocol<\/a> to new limits of throughput and speed, highlighting the protocol\u2019s incredible performance and security.<\/p>\n

Notable figures from the gaming and entertainment industries are participating in the event, including Twitch creator PotasticP, multi-platinum hip-hop artist MIMS\u2014known for the hit song \u201cThis Is Why I\u2019m Hot\u201d\u2014former DOOM 3 champion and Esports Hall of Famer Fatal1ty, and actor Chris Pang of \u201cCrazy Rich Asians\u201d fame.
