Over $235 million in notional value changed hands in a single day, with volume spread across standard and micro contracts. This brings the total traded volume since the May 19 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/cme-launches-ripple-xrp-futures-today-heres-what-you-need-to-know\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">launch<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to over $1.6 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The contracts offer exposure to XRP without requiring token ownership. The standard contract is based on 50,000 XRP, while the micro version covers 2,500 coins. These cash-settled products are tied to CME\u2019s XRP-Dollar Reference Rate and are available to both institutions and retail traders.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Institutions Turn to Regulated Exposure<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CME has become a go-to exchange for investors who want access to crypto through regulated markets. Its Bitcoin and Ether futures are already widely used, and XRP is now following a similar path. The latest numbers suggest growing use of XRP futures among trading firms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CME\u2019s Active Trader account <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CMEActiveTrader\/status\/1944855815485046985\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">posted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cXRP and Micro XRP futures crossed $235M notional traded on July 11.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That day, over 9,100 contracts were traded, equal to more than 82 million XRP. Micro contracts also saw their busiest session since launch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ripple, which uses XRP for international payments, is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/ripple-confirms-mica-license-intention\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">applying<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for a banking license in the United States. It is also looking to register under the MiCA framework in the European Union. These moves are part of a broader strategy to build compliant infrastructure for XRP in major markets.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>XRP Gets First U.S. ETF as Global Demand Grows<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">XRP futures aren\u2019t the only regulated product gaining traction. On July 14, 3iQ <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/3iq_corp\/status\/1944739120351150242\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that its XRP ETF, trading on Canada\u2019s TSX, crossed $50 million in assets. CME data also shows that 45% of XRP futures volume comes from outside North America, pointing to strong demand across regions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adding to this institutional wave, the SEC has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/sec-approves-proshares-xrp-etf-launch-imminent\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">approved<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF, a leveraged futures-based product set to trade under the ticker UXRP on NYSE Arca.
