{"id":38282,"date":"2025-07-23T05:46:49","date_gmt":"2025-07-23T05:46:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=38282"},"modified":"2025-07-23T05:46:49","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T05:46:49","slug":"ethereum-demand-shock-could-send-eth-to-10k-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=38282","title":{"rendered":"Ethereum Demand Shock Could Send ETH to $10K This Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>After trading steadily downward for the first four months of the year, Ethereum has rebounded strongly and is currently up more than 65% over the last 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for this rip is \u201coverwhelming demand\u201d from exchange-traded products and corporate treasuries, said Bitwise chief investment officer Matt Hougan on X on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The executive compared Ethereum to Bitcoin, which, for the past 18 months, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ethereum-buying-pressure-surges-amid-new-treasury-wave-and-etf-inflows\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">driven ever-upwards<\/a> because ETPs and corporate treasuries \u201chave been buying more than 100% of all the new Bitcoin being produced.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The Ethereum Demand Shock<\/p>\n<p>A thread on why ETH\u2019s price is rising and why it will continue to rise in the months ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Matt Hougan (@Matt_Hougan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Matt_Hougan\/status\/1947754601530429453?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">July 22, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>Ethereum Supply and Demand<\/h2>\n<p>Until recently, Ethereum had not benefited from the same trend as Ether ETFs <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/1-year-on-how-have-spot-ethereum-etfs-performed\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">launched<\/a> in July 2024, which did not perform as well, seeing just $2.5 billion in inflows until mid-May.\u00a0However, this all changed recently with <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/spot-ethereum-etfs-see-record-inflows-as-eth-taps-3400\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">spot ETH ETFs<\/a> hoovering up the asset at unprecedented levels.<\/p>\n<p>Bitwise estimated that ETPs and corporate treasuries have combined to buy 2.83 million ETH since May 15, more than $10 billion at today\u2019s prices, which is 32 times the net new supply over the same time period.<\/p>\n<p>Hougan expects this trend to continue because investors are \u201csignificantly underweight\u201d in Ethereum compared to Bitcoin.
