Yesterday, we <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/we-asked-4-ais-to-rank-the-top-5-altcoins-for-2025-xrp-didnt-take-1\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">published<\/a> an article asking the top 4 AI chatbots (ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, and Perplexity), which are their five altcoin contenders to outperform by the end of the year. While there were some speculative and surprising names, the last three AIs all included ETH and XRP \u2013 the two largest altcoins by market \u2013 in some form.<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT, however, left out Ripple\u2019s native token, which is somewhat surprising given its performance since the US elections. Back then, it was in a multi-month consolidation phase with an upper boundary of $0.6. By January, it had skyrocketed to its 2018 ATH of $3.4. Then, it retraced in late Q1 and early Q2 before it exploded once again in July to a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/big-xrp-price-predictions-emerge-after-ripple-hits-new-ath\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">new record<\/a> of $3.65.<\/p>\n<p>It also has a considerable following, known as the XRP Army, which made ChatGPT\u2019s answer even more surprising. Consequently, we doubled down on why it excluded Ripple\u2019s coin. It stated that it based its answer on \u201cperformance outlook,\u201d rather than on current market capitalization or historical performance.<\/p>\n<p>It cited the lack of DeFi developments on Ripple\u2019s XRP Ledger as one of the reasons why the token wasn\u2019t included, which is a stark contrast to the Ethereum and Solana ecosystems (both of which made the list).<\/p>\n<p>It also noted that the legal overhang of the case against the SEC still exists, even though both parties have mutually agreed that the lawsuit should be concluded. Judge Torres, though, continues to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/xrp-drops-following-ripples-latest-setback-in-sec-legal-battle\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">deny<\/a> their joint petitions.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, OpenAI\u2019s chatbot brought up previous market cycles, in which XRP lagged behind other altcoins:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"408\" data-end=\"457\"><strong data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"457\">XRP Tends to Lag Early in Bull Markets:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"693\">\n<li data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"525\">\n<p data-start=\"460\" data-end=\"525\">Historically, <strong data-start=\"474\" data-end=\"493\">XRP pumps later<\/strong> than most other major altcoins.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"526\" data-end=\"623\">\n<p data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"623\">In both 2017 and 2021 cycles, XRP\u2019s explosive moves came <strong data-start=\"585\" data-end=\"603\">toward the end<\/strong>, not the beginning.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"624\" data-end=\"693\">\n<p data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"693\">So while it may perform well, it\u2019s typically <strong data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"692\">not a first mover<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>It Could Still Pump<\/h2>\n<p>Although XRP wasn\u2019t on ChatGPT\u2019s top 5 list, unlike SOL, ETH, TON, SUI, and APT, the AI solution still acknowledged that Ripple\u2019s asset could continue to rocket this year under more favorable conditions.<\/p>\n<p>If the aforementioned lawsuit against the US securities watchdog officially ends with a positive outcome for Ripple, its native token is poised to benefit, said ChatGPT.
