{"id":39013,"date":"2025-07-27T18:01:58","date_gmt":"2025-07-27T18:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=39013"},"modified":"2025-07-27T18:01:58","modified_gmt":"2025-07-27T18:01:58","slug":"michael-saylor-is-bringing-bitcoin-backed-money-market-style-vehicle-to-wall-street-nydig","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=39013","title":{"rendered":"Michael Saylor Is Bringing Bitcoin-Backed Money-Market-Style Vehicle to Wall Street: NYDIG"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Strategy (MSTR) is pulling off some form of financial alchemy: using bitcoin, historically a volatile asset, to create something that looks a lot like stability.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the firm\u2019s $2 billion<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2025\/07\/21\/strategy-aims-to-raise-another-500m-for-bitcoin-buys-with-new-preferred-series\"> \u201cStretch\u201d Preferred Stock (STRC)<\/a> offering offers a variable 9% dividend and is designed to keep the share price hovering near $100.<\/p>\n<p>The offering doesn\u2019t give investors direct bitcoin exposure, yet it&#8217;s backed by the asset in spirit and structure, according to a recent NYDIG report.<\/p>\n<p>Strategy holds $71.7 billion in bitcoin and just $11 billion in liabilities, giving it room to deliver income even if crypto prices dip, the report notes.<\/p>\n<p>Historically, bitcoin has returned at least 3%\u20134% annually over any five-year stretch, while average returns have been significantly higher.<\/p>\n<p>Strategy is betting it can use this return profile to sustain high payouts without touching its crypto stash, essentially turning long-term bitcoin appreciation into monthly cash flow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSTRC looks to us like a high-yield, bitcoin-backed, money-market-style vehicle, designed to trade near $100 par while offering a far higher yield than traditional short-term instruments, albeit with a different liquidity profile,\u201d NYDIG wrote.<\/p>\n<p>That premise has proven popular. Investor interest drove Strategy to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/07\/24\/michael-saylor-s-strategy-boosts-latest-preferred-share-raise-to-usd2b-from-usd500m-bloomberg\">quadruple the offering<\/a> size from $500 million to $2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>STRC may not just be a yield vehicle, but rather bitcoin, reworked for traditional finance income investors.
