Fed leaves rates unchanged for 5th straight meeting<\/p>\n<p>2. Fed voted 9-2 to keep interest rates unchanged<\/p>\n<p>3. Indicators suggest growth of economy moderated<\/p>\n<p>4. Inflation in the US remains \u201csomewhat elevated\u201d<\/p>\n<p>5. Unemployment rate remains low\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Kobeissi Letter (@KobeissiLetter) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KobeissiLetter\/status\/1950618076346535968?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">July 30, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>As The Kobeissi Letter explained, the Federal Reserve officials were mostly against lowering the rates, which is evident by the 9-2 vote.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, today\u2019s decision by the Fed, although it was expected, comes after a positive GDP report by the US. As <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/trump-pressures-powell-to-cut-rates-again-as-us-economy-outperforms-in-q2\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">reported<\/a> earlier, the country\u2019s economy rebounded significantly in Q2 after the correction in Q1.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has made numerous calls for the past several months, urging Fed Chair Jerome Powell to lower the interest rates, but to no avail. The POTUS once <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bitcoin-price-rises-above-109k-as-trump-calls-for-biggest-interest-rate-cut-in-history\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">requested<\/a> the biggest rate cut in history by three basis points.<\/p>\n<p>After today\u2019s Fed decision, Trump reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/scottmelker\/status\/1950616395911139690\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> that he \u201cheard\u201d the central bank will finally reduce the interest rates during the next meeting in September.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s price, which is quite susceptible to the Fed\u2019s actions, had calmed earlier today at around $118,000 in anticipation of the rate cut decision.
