{"id":39638,"date":"2025-07-30T19:17:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T19:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=39638"},"modified":"2025-07-30T19:17:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T19:17:08","slug":"bitcoin-tumbles-below-116k-as-jerome-powell-delivers-hawkish-remarks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=39638","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin Tumbles Below $116K as Jerome Powell Delivers Hawkish Remarks"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Did U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell just threaten to hike rates?<\/p>\n<p>At his post-meeting press conference following the Fed&#8217;s Wednesday decision to hold interest rates steady, Powell continued to insist that the president&#8217;s tariff policy risks igniting inflation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Increased tariffs are pushing up prices,&#8221; said Powell. &#8220;Near-term measures of inflation expectations have moved up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You could say,&#8221; Powell continued, &#8220;the Fed is looking through inflation by not hiking [rates].&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Markets didn&#8217;t take kindly to the remarks, with the price of bitcoin (BTC) quickly tumbling about 1% to $115,800 and major U.S. stock indices moving from about 0.5% advances to 0.5% losses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2025\/07\/30\/fed-holds-rates-steady-as-expected-but-two-dissent-from-decision\">The Fed earlier<\/a> held its fed funds range steady at 4.25%-4.5%, in line with market expectations.
