The company plans to use the funds to expand its stablecoin payments stack and enter new markets.<\/p>\n<p>The funding round comes at a time in which the stablecoin sector has been growing exponentially. <a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/stablecoins\">DeFiLlama<\/a> data shows in early 2024 it has a $130 billion market capitalization, which has since more than doubled to $270 billion. Transak says nearly 30% of its more than $2 billion in processed transactions originates from stablecoin flows.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s CEO and co-founder Sami Start said in a press release shared with CoinDesk that scaling stablecoin adoption requires more than liquidity. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cStablecoins are no longer just a crypto asset. They are now the rails for global value transfer,\u201d Start said. \u201cBut making them usable at scale requires more than just liquidity,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Tether\u2019s participation in the funding round is notable. The company\u2019s flagship stablecoin, USDT currently accounts for more than 60% of the total market, DeFiLlama\u2019s data shows.<\/p>\n<p>The stablecoin issuer has been putting its dominance to use, investing in various ventures including Spanish crypto exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/08\/07\/tether-leads-eur30m-investment-round-in-spanish-crypto-exchange-bit2me\">Bit2Me<\/a>, Italian football club\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/06\/26\/tether-seeks-more-active-role-at-juventus-after-buying-over-10-of-soccer-club\">Juventus<\/a>, major Latin American producer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2025\/04\/30\/tether-finalizes-buying-70-of-adecoagro-stake-securing-tokenization-ambition\">Adecoagro<\/a>, blockchain forensics firm\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/07\/08\/tether-invests-in-blockchain-forensics-firm-crystal-intelligence-to-fight-crypto-crime\">Crystal Intelligence<\/a>, YouTube competitor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2024\/12\/20\/tether-takes-75-m-stake-in-video-sharing-platform-rumble\">Rumble<\/a>, and gold-focused investment firm\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/06\/12\/tether-takes-minority-stake-in-gold-focused-investment-company-elemental-altus\">Elemental Altus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Transak\u2019s funding round also saw participation from Primal Capital, 1kx, Protein Capital, Fuel Ventures, and others.
