Since then, it has declined by 10% sparking renewed calls for altseason, which usually comes when BTC dominance drops to 50%.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s market share has been in an uptrend since the bear market of late 2022, which many altcoins have yet to recover from.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin dominance fell below 55% in December 2024 during the crypto market rally after the US election, but it resumed its uptrend shortly after, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/chart\/?symbol=CRYPTOCAP%3ABTC.D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">according<\/a> to TradingView.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin Dominance Showing Weakness<\/h2>\n<p>This was the biggest <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/altseason-sentiment-breaks-down-as-bitcoin-holds-steady-santiment\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">indicator of altseason<\/a> witnessed in 2017 and 2021, \u201cand it shows that mega altseason for this bull run is pending,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BullTheoryio\/status\/1955305204053647834\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">commented<\/a> crypto research channel \u2018Bull Theory\u2019 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, BTC.D on the weekly chart shows clear weakness, and if it breaks down, we will see alts exploding randomly.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bitcoin dominance can drop to the 45% level in the next six months, and this is where altcoins pump 10x to 50x, they added.\u00a0The sentiment has been echoed by several analysts, all observing the same thing.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Bitcoin Dominance is ready to drop!<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Altcoinseason?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">#Altcoinseason<\/a> is officially set to begin\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">$BTC<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BTC?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">#BTC<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">#Bitcoin<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ALFxP0HgiD\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/ALFxP0HgiD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CryptoELlTES (@CryptooELITES) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CryptooELITES\/status\/1954838861219013023?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">August 11, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, CoinMarketCap\u2019s altseason <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/charts\/altcoin-season-index\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">index<\/a> is still a low 37 out of 100, implying that we\u2019re not there yet.
