{"id":42194,"date":"2025-08-14T13:49:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T13:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=42194"},"modified":"2025-08-14T13:49:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T13:49:00","slug":"billionaire-winklevoss-twins-backed-gemini-launches-self-custodial-smart-wallet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=42194","title":{"rendered":"Billionaire Winklevoss Twins-Backed Gemini Launches Self-Custodial Smart Wallet"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Gemini, the crypto exchange founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, has launched the Gemini Wallet, a new self-custodial smart wallet that aims to streamline user access to Web3 protocols, decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, and onchain applications, the company said in a blog post Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Available at <a href=\"https:\/\/onchain.gemini.com\/\">onchain.gemini.com<\/a>, the Gemini Wallet allows users to move seamlessly between embedded and portable wallet experiences, removing the need for separate apps or complex seed phrases.<\/p>\n<p>The wallet features passkey-based login for instant access via biometrics, social recovery tools to regain access without compromising privacy, and an integrated dashboard for exploring dapps, managing assets, and earning yield, Gemini said.<\/p>\n<p>Competition in the crypto wallet space is heating up. Rival digital asset exchange Coinbase (COIN) recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/tech\/2025\/07\/17\/coinbase-wallet-becomes-base-app-in-major-rebrand\">announced<\/a> the rebrand and technological overhaul of its Base layer 2 ecosystem.
