Highlighting its weight on $BTC\u2019s trajectory, when Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent suggested the government wouldn\u2019t be purchasing any more $BTC<\/a>, it wiped out roughly $55B from $BTC\u2019s market cap.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, he later clarified on X<\/a> that the Treasury remains committed to pursuing \u2018budget-neutral pathways\u2019 to grow its $BTC holdings. After doing so, $BTC recovered and lifted the broader market alongside it.<\/p>\n
