Jackson Hole and Powell\u2019s Balancing Act<\/h2>\n

Worries are mounting that there was never a rate cut scenario. All economists were projecting ZERO<\/strong> rate cuts in 2025, and only retail thinks there still is.<\/p>\n

Although the FUD has started that Powell will back out of rate cuts, according to the CME\u2019s FED watch tool there are two rate cuts in the forecast.<\/p>\n

The data also paints a split picture. Headline CPI cooled more than expected, but producer prices climbed and consumer surveys revealed higher inflation expectations.<\/p>\n

Prediction markets like Polymarket also give the FED a 67% chance for a 25 bps rate cut.<\/p>\n

Looking at the past two Jackson Hole events, markets pumped then dumped, and this year we might see the same.<\/p>\n
