Dogecoin ($DOGE) is having a rollicking September. The biggest meme coin in the world is up a whopping 32% this month so far.<\/p>\n

Many believe this is just the trailer, as DOGE is simply showing what\u2019s to come ahead of a potential full-blown altcoin season.<\/p>\n

Dogecoin\u2019s current rally<\/a> is coming from a major technical breakout. The token crept up above a descending triangle pattern on September 7, and has since then coughed up a one-sided move.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, $DOGE is rallying despite a delay in the launch of a DOGE ETF.<\/p>\n

According to a September 8 US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, the Rex-Osprey DOGE ETF (DOJE) was expected to list on Friday.<\/p>\n

However, it has now been pushed to next week<\/a>, according to Bloomberg\u2019s senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas.<\/p>\n

ETF Expectations & Institutional Purchases Pushing DOGE<\/h2>\n

The launch of the Rex-Osprey DOGE ETF might have been postponed, but it\u2019s still approved and will hit the markets in a few days\u2019 time.<\/p>\n

To the uninitiated, a DOGE ETF would essentially increase the token\u2019s demand \u2013 because it would boost retail participation by offering seamless exposure through traditional brokerage accounts.<\/p>\n

That said, Balchunas noted that the effect of DOGE ETFs (he expects 4-5 of them to launch in October or November) wouldn\u2019t be as significant as, say, Bitcoin ETFs.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because in the case of Bitcoin, there were a lot of retail investors who couldn\u2019t interact with crypto directly.<\/p>\n

That number, however, is a lot less with DOGE. Balchunas believes folks interested in DOGE, which is relatively more niche than Bitcoin, might already have crypto wallets<\/a> set up.<\/p>\n

The amount of effect aside, the bottom line remains that DOGE ETFs will undoubtedly be positive for the token.<\/p>\n

On top of that, institutional players have been stacking up DOGE at record pace.<\/p>\n
