{"id":47625,"date":"2025-09-15T16:01:47","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T16:01:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=47625"},"modified":"2025-09-15T16:01:47","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T16:01:47","slug":"moonpay-to-buy-startup-meso-to-expand-crypto-payments-further","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=47625","title":{"rendered":"MoonPay to Buy Startup Meso to Expand Crypto Payments Further"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Crypto-focused financial technology company MoonPay is set to acquire payments startup Meso.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition, first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-09-15\/moonpay-to-acquire-payments-startup-add-ex-paypal-venmo-execs\">reported by Bloomberg on Monday<\/a>, was confirmed by MoonPay <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/09\/15\/moonpay-to-acquire-payments-startup-meso\">in a post on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>No financial details of the acquisition nor an estimated timeframe were provided. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re excited to share that MoonPay has acquired Meso to help us build crypto&#8217;s largest global payments network,&#8221; the company wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Meso&#8217;s co-founders Ali Aghareza and Ben Mills, formerly of PayPal and Venmo respectively, will join MoonPay as new chief technology officer and senior vice president of product, the firm added. <\/p>\n<p>MoonPay sees itself as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/consensus-toronto-2025-coverage\/2025\/04\/22\/moonpays-ivan-soto-wright-bets-on-a-non-custodial-api-first-future-for-crypto\">an infrastructure provider for the wider crypto and Web3 industry<\/a>, whereby other companies can plug MoonPay into their products, akin to Stripe in the traditional payments world.<\/p>\n<p>In a similar vein to its Meso acquisition, MoonPay <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/01\/13\/moon-pay-buys-crypto-payment-processor-helio-for-175-m\">acquired Solana-powered crypto payment processor Helio<\/a> for $175 million in January.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Crypto-focused financial technology company MoonPay is set to acquire payments startup Meso.
