The start of the business week offered a correction below $4,500, but after the central bank <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/us-fed-slashes-interest-rates-by-25-bps-how-will-bitcoins-price-react\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">slashed<\/a> the benchmark, ETH soared above $4,600 and eventually consolidated at the current $4,500.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The recent actions of the large investors support the theory that another major rally might be incoming. The popular X user Ali Martinez <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ali_charts\/status\/1968713879204360667\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">revealed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that whales accumulated 820,000 ETH (worth approximately $3.8 billion) over the past 72 hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Following the latest accumulation, this group of investors now collectively holds 31 million coins, or a quarter of the asset\u2019s circulating supply. Massive purchases of that type leave fewer tokens available on the open market, which could be a precursor to a price rally (assuming demand doesn\u2019t diminish). They may also encourage retail investors to distribute fresh capital into the ecosystem, thereby reinforcing the bullish narrative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Meanwhile, the whales\u2019 unrealized profits recently <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/eth-whales-profits-hit-records-massive-rally-or-big-price-drop-next\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reached<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> almost $45 billion, or a level last seen at the end of 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What\u2019s Going on With DOGE?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Dogecoin whales also increased their holdings, <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/158000000-doge-bought-by-whales-whats-happening\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">purchasing<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> 158 million coins for nearly $45 million. Those investors holding between one million and ten million coins now possess a total stash of over 11 billion DOGE.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ali Martinez, who disclosed about the effort, recently <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ali_charts\/status\/1968912185419305014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">predicted<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that breaking $0.29 could send the price of the meme coin \u201cflying\u201d to $0.36 and even $0.45. As of this writing, DOGE is worth around $0.27, representing a 28% increase on a monthly scale.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The meme coin\u2019s recent positive performance can <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">be attributed<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to the hype surrounding the launch of the first spot DOGE ETF in the United States. The REX-Osprey product saw the light of day yesterday (September 18) under the ticker DOJE and had a successful debut, <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1968794374285725826\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">generating<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> trading volume of around $17 million (top 5 for this year out of 710 launches).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ripple and XRP in the Spotlight<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Besides introducing a spot DOGE ETF, REX-Osprey launched the same product with XRP as the underlying token. Its trading volume in the past 24 hours <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/first-us-spot-xrp-doge-etfs-break-the-market-with-record-inflows\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">reached<\/a> almost $38 million, or the best performance for such an investment vehicle on its first day this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">XRP, which climbed above $3.15 in the days leading up to the ETF launch, slipped afterward \u2013 a move that could <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">be interpreted<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> as a classic \u201csell-the-news\u201d event.
