While the Cybertruck may have actually made its debut on the U.S. roadways in November 2023, this Tesla<\/strong> electric vehicle\u2019s debutante year of 2024 was nothing less than a success<\/a> among Benzinga readers. <\/p>\n

Sightings of this not-so-demure rare bird included the truck in flames<\/a> \u2014 a metaphor for 2024, some might say.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shaquille O’Neal<\/strong>, a former NBA superstar who makes multiple appearances on the 2024 list, is among its fans, but the Cybertruck is also intrinsically linked to Tesla CEO Elon Musk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Despite the ubiquity of Cybertrucks, Musk and Shaq, the No. 1 spot went to Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: BTC<\/a>), which made a stellar comeback in the latter part of 2024<\/a>, much to the chagrin of one possible Bitcoin holder \u2014 and the No. 1 article for 2024.<\/p>\n

If there is a winner of messing up on the world stage, it would have to go to the Bitcoin holder who threw away millions.<\/p>\n

In 2013, when Bitcoin traded between $50 and $1,242 per token, an unfortunate man discarded a hard drive containing the private key for 8,000 Bitcoins. Fast forward to Dec. 30, 2024, with Bitcoin priced at $92,562 per token, that lost stash is now worth $740,496,000. While it falls short of landing him on the Forbes Billionaire list, it\u2019s still more than enough to afford a luxurious penthouse on Park Avenue in New York City or in Dubai.<\/p>\n

But lo and behold \u2014 spoiler alert \u2014 it turns out his ex-girlfriend actually threw the hard drive out, per his request to help him tidy up his house, according to a Daily Mail article<\/a>. Probably not one …<\/p>\n
