Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas<\/a> stated that unless a big collapse happens, the altcoin-related exchange-traded funds (ETF) awaiting approval will make crypto \u201cpretty wild.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He<\/span> shared<\/a><\/strong> that 14 altcoin-related ETFs await approval by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the next 12 months, including funds giving exposure to Solana (SOL<\/a>), XRP<\/a>, Hedera (HBAR<\/a>), Litecoin (LTC<\/a>), baskets of assets, and Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>) and Ethereum (ETH<\/a>) simultaneously.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, Balchunas expects the list of altcoin ETFs to triple in size in the next two months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Favorable environment<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Following\u00a0President Donald Trump<\/a> victory in the US elections, ETF Store CEO Nate Geraci predicted that several spot crypto ETFs<\/span> would be listed<\/a><\/strong>. He stated:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAssume multiple issuers were highly prepared for election results. No downside to getting aggressive now.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Asset managers registered three new ETF listings since Geraci\u2019s publication. On Nov. 12, Canary Capital<\/a><\/span> filed for an HBAR ETF<\/a>, which surprised some market analysts, given the expectation that issuers would choose more prominent crypto among the 50 largest by market cap.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, Bitwise<\/a> registered a<\/span> SOL trust<\/a><\/strong> in Delaware on Nov. 21, and five days later, NYSE<\/span> filed to list<\/a><\/strong> the asset manager\u2019s mixed BTC and ETH ETF.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bloomberg ETF analyst\u00a0James Seyffart<\/a> believes that the SEC will likely approve Solana-related ETFs within two years<\/a>. <\/span>However, he added that the current administration could \u201cvery easily\u201d fail to acknowledge these ETFs. <\/span><\/p>\n

Seyffart highlighted that this had already happened in August when the Cboe removed the 19b-4 Form filing to list VanEck<\/a> and 21Shares\u2019<\/a> Solana ETFs registered in July.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Litecoin ETF filed by Canary in October has a higher chance of approval. Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Digital<\/a>,<\/span> previously told<\/a><\/strong> CryptoSlate<\/span><\/i> that the LTC launch is often considered fair, given the absence of a pre-mine or token sale.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the SEC\u2019s position remains unclear, Thorn believes the regulator is unlikely to label LTC as a security.<\/span><\/p>\n
