Cronos erases billions in weeks as the Trump-linked rally fizzles, raising fresh questions over demand and deal execution.<\/span><\/p>\n

Crypto.com\u2019s token Cronos (CRO) slipped toward pre-announcement levels on Friday, giving up the bulk of gains made after last month\u2019s partnership news with Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).<\/span><\/p>\n

Since peaking on Aug. 26, CRO has lost more than $6Bn in market value. The token was trading near $0.19 today, down about -17% for the week, and now sits in the mid-30s by market-cap ranking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CRO\u2019s \u201cTrump trade\u201d has now come full circle. The <\/span>$6.4 billion treasury plan<\/span><\/a> was enough to trigger a sharp rally in late August, but the token has since given back most of those gains.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Future demand looks tied less to headlines and more to what actually happens: whether treasury purchases materialize, how regulators respond, and if Cronos shows more activity on-chain.<\/span><\/p>\n

For now, CRO\u2019s price is moving with broader market sentiment. Traders are watching two things in particular: updates on the SPAC listing and signs that treasury funds are being deployed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The pullback comes as crypto markets turn risk-off, with Bitcoin dropping under $110,000 and the Fear & Greed Index sliding into \u201cfear\u201d at around 29-32.<\/span><\/p>\n

TMTG <\/span>pledged<\/span><\/a> $105 million in CRO purchases, while Crypto.com agreed to buy $50 million worth of DJT stock. CRO jumped 25-30% on the headlines before momentum cooled.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uncertainty also lingers over regulatory steps. The SPAC structure still requires SEC approval, and no clear timeline has been given. That has left traders questioning execution.<\/span><\/p>\n

Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek did not address CRO\u2019s price directly this week. Instead, he <\/span>pointed<\/span><\/a> to broader initiatives, saying on X that the exchange supports the CFTC\u2019s new tokenized-collateral framework \u201cincluding CRO.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
