Crypto exchange-traded funds (ETF) changes, such as in-kind redemptions and staking permission for Ethereum (ETH<\/a>) products, are likely to happen \u201cearly on\u201d under a new US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) administration.<\/span><\/p>\n

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce<\/a> shared during an<\/span> interview<\/a><\/strong> for Coinage that these matters may arrive for a regulator review as soon as Paul Atkins takes the role of chairperson. She added:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m open to reconsidering both in-kind [redemptions] and staking to think about, again, how can you allow people to design the products in a way that is most useful to the investors in those products.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Peirce, commonly known as the \u201cCrypto Mom \u201d due to her pro-crypto stance, also said it is \u201ceasier\u201d to approve such changes when the majority of Commissioners want things \u201cto go through.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas<\/a> labeled Peirce\u2019s brief remarks as \u201c<\/span>great<\/a><\/strong>,\u201d<\/span> highlighting her interest<\/a><\/strong> in making publicly traded crypto products more useful to investors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Balchunas stated that discussions may occur regarding these changes, but the most important thing is the \u201cSEC gods\u201d being interested in them. As a result, the regulator will work out the legal basis for the improvements.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, he reiterated his optimism about the new SEC administration, highlighting his<\/span> recent prediction<\/a><\/strong> that a \u201cwave\u201d of crypto ETFs is a likely scenario for next year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Accelerated development<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Balchunas and his fellow Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart<\/a> predicted that new crypto ETF approvals will occur next year. Yet, the developments are happening at an accelerated pace.<\/p>\n

The SEC recently approved the hybrid ETFs filed by Hashdex and Franklin Templeton, which will track Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>) and ETH simultaneously.<\/p>\n

Despite happening earlier than predicted by the analysts, the green light is in tandem with their prediction, which expected these products to be the first ones shipped to the market.<\/p>\n

According to the prediction, the next ETFs to follow are Litecoin (LTC<\/a>) and Hedera (HBAR<\/a>). At the same time, Solana (SOL<\/a>) and XRP<\/a> funds might have to wait until their regulatory status becomes clearer.<\/p>\n
