{"id":50245,"date":"2025-09-30T12:16:49","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T12:16:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=50245"},"modified":"2025-09-30T12:16:49","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T12:16:49","slug":"visa-pilots-pre-funded-stablecoins-for-cross-border-payments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=50245","title":{"rendered":"Visa Pilots Pre-Funded Stablecoins for Cross-Border Payments"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Visa (V) is commencing a pre-funding pilot for the use stablecoins through Visa Direct, its real-time payments platform.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses would now be able to move money across borders free of the requirement to park large fiat in balance in advance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20250930875370\/en\/Visa-Direct-Taps-Stablecoins-to-Unlock-Faster-Funding-for-Businesses\">Visa announced on Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The goal: reduce friction, unlock faster access to liquidity and give financial institutions more flexibility in how they manage global payouts,&#8221; the payments giant said.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses would pre-fund their Visa Direct account with stablecoins instead of fiat, which Visa would count as &#8220;money in the bank,&#8221; meaning the funds would be available to payout. <\/p>\n<p>Visa, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/04\/28\/mastercard-unveils-end-to-end-stablecoin-capabilities-will-launch-card-with-okx\">several of their peers<\/a> in traditional financial (TradFi) payments, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/07\/31\/visa-expands-settlement-platform-to-stellar-avalanche-adds-support-for-3-stablecoins\">accelerating its plans in stablecoins<\/a> &#8211; crypto tokens pegged to the value of a TradFi asset such as a a fiat currency.  <\/p>\n<p>They have been capturing the increased interest in their use as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2025\/09\/19\/u-s-treasury-takes-next-step-in-turning-genius-act-into-stablecoin-regulations\">major jurisdictions have introduced formal regulatory regimes<\/a> overseeing stablecoins. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Visa (V) is commencing a pre-funding pilot for the use stablecoins through Visa Direct, its real-time payments platform.
