in that ETH treasuries have tripled their stack since July this year, while BTC holdings have flatlined.<\/p>\n<p>A <a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dlnews.com\/articles\/markets\/crypto-treasury-trade-heats-up-as-ethereum-firms-lap-bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">publication <\/a>quoted Max Shanon, Senior Research Associate at Bitwise, stating, \u201cI think the percentage of supply accumulated by Ethereum treasuries continues to outpace Bitcoin over the short term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The last few months have been a wild ride with crypto treasury companies starting to target crypto other than BTC. ETH treasury companies weren\u2019t even on the map six months ago, and suddenly, 71 companies now hold $22 Bn in Ether per Strategic ETH Reserve <a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.strategicethreserve.xyz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">data<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/ethereum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-289812\" src=\"https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/CoinMarketCap-ETH-300x282.jpeg\" alt=\"CoinMarketCap ETH Data\" width=\"889\" height=\"836\" srcset=\"https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/CoinMarketCap-ETH-300x282.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/CoinMarketCap-ETH-50x47.jpeg 50w, https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/CoinMarketCap-ETH.jpeg 421w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 889px) 100vw, 889px\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Why are ETH treasuries accumulating as aggressively as they are, you ask? Well, simply put, it\u2019s all about the yield.<\/p>\n<p>Shanon explained, \u201cEther generates compounding returns through staking and DeFi real yield \u2014 trading, borrowing and lending \u2014 while Bitcoin offers no native yield in comparison.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 3% staking yield creates a compounding loop where treasury firms stake ETH, earn more ETH and use those gains to justify a higher stock valuation. With higher valuations, treasury firms can raise more capital, buy more ETH, and stake again in a never-ending growth hack.<\/p>\n<p>BTC treasuries can\u2019t do that.
