{"id":50557,"date":"2025-10-01T16:46:49","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T16:46:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=50557"},"modified":"2025-10-01T16:46:49","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T16:46:49","slug":"ethereums-fusaka-upgrade-passes-holesky-test-moves-closer-to-mainnet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=50557","title":{"rendered":"Ethereum\u2019s Fusaka Upgrade Passes Holesky Test, Moves Closer To Mainnet"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Ethereum\u2019s next upgrade, Fusaka, just moved closer to going live on the main blockchain after a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ethPandaOps\/status\/1973325647020957804\">successful test run<\/a> on the Holesky test network early Wednesday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Fusaka hard fork comes only a few months after Ethereum\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/tech\/2025\/05\/07\/ethereum-activates-pectra-upgrade-raising-max-stake-to-2048-eth\">major Pectra upgrade<\/a> and is designed to make things cheaper for institutions using Ethereum. One of the changes it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/tech\/2025\/05\/12\/ethereums-next-upgrade-fusaka-could-cut-layer-2-and-validator-costs\">introduces is PeerDAS<\/a>, a feature that lets validators check only part of the data needed instead of full chunks (\u201cblobs\u201d), which helps cut costs for both layer-2 networks and validators.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Test networks like Holesky act as practice grounds where developers can safely test new code before it reaches the real chain. Holesky, launched in 2023, was particularly important because its validator setup closely mirrors Ethereum\u2019s mainnet. But over the past few months, Holesky <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/tech\/2025\/09\/02\/ethereum-to-close-its-largest-testnet-holesky-after-fusaka-upgrade\">has started showing signs of age<\/a> and reliability issues. Fusaka is the last upgrade the network will see before it shuts down \u2014 two weeks after Fusaka goes live on mainnet.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The next <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ethereum.org\/2025\/10\/01\/checkpoint-6\">two testnet runs<\/a> are scheduled for Oct. 14 and 28. After those are complete, Ethereum developers will lock in a date for Fusaka\u2019s full mainnet launch.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHolesky finalized!
