Veteran economist\u00a0Steve Hanke<\/strong> dismissed Bitcoin\u2019s <\/strong>(CRYPTO: BTC<\/a>) rally amid the federal government shutdown as a \u201cflight to fantasy\u201d on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin Has No Fundamental Value, Says Hanke<\/h2>\n

In an X post, Hanke commented on the apex cryptocurrency\u2019s record-breaking run that sent it past $126,000. <\/p>\n

\u201cBitcoin’s rally after the US government shutdown = a flight to FANTASY,\u201d Hanke, who served in Ronald Reagan\u2019s White House as a Senior Economist on the President\u2019s Council of Economic Advisers, said.<\/p>\n

Hanke, who has been a fierce critic of cryptocurrencies, called Bitcoin a \u201cspeculative asset with no fundamental value.\u201d<\/p>\n
