Particularly the 2022 \u201c<a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/14\/why-the-2022-crypto-winter-is-unlike-previous-bear-markets.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">crypto winter<\/a>\u201d which wiped out $2 trillion in market value.<\/p>\n<p>Hargreaves Lansdowne concluded saying, \u201cWhile longer-term returns of bitcoin have been positive, bitcoin has experienced several periods of extreme losses and is a highly volatile investment \u2014 much riskier than stocks or bonds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It however acknowledged that some clients may want to speculate.
