{"id":53372,"date":"2025-10-17T07:47:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T07:47:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=53372"},"modified":"2025-10-17T07:47:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T07:47:07","slug":"ripple-labs-reportedly-leading-1b-fundraise-for-xrp-treasury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=53372","title":{"rendered":"Ripple Labs Reportedly Leading $1B Fundraise for XRP Treasury\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Ripple Labs is reportedly leading an effort to raise at least $1 billion through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) to create a digital asset treasury (DAT) focused on accumulating XRP tokens.<\/p>\n<p>It is a sign that the recent market chaos has not deterred crypto giants from pursuing their business plans to the fullest, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/technology\/cryptocurrencies\/ripple-labs-said-to-lead-1-billion-fundraise-for-xrp-hoard\/ar-AA1OD0tE\">according<\/a> to a report by Bloomberg on Thursday.\u00a0Ripple will contribute some of its own XRP to the new DAT, according to Bloomberg\u2019s anonymous sources.<\/p>\n<p>The company directly holds 4.74 billion XRP worth about $11 billion, and there are almost 36 billion tokens held in escrow, which are scheduled to be released on a monthly basis. In total, the fintech firm controls over 40% of the total XRP supply.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Ripple leading effort to raise at least $1bil to accumulate xrp\u2026<\/p>\n<p>New xrp-focused DAT.<\/p>\n<p>via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/olgakharif?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@olgakharif<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oUU7BOiy1J\">pic.twitter.com\/oUU7BOiy1J<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nate Geraci (@NateGeraci) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NateGeraci\/status\/1979002893094010885?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 17, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>DAT Momentum Still Strong<\/h2>\n<p>Ripple separately announced a $1 billion acquisition of treasury software provider GTreasury to strengthen corporate finance relationships.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cRipple is breaking into the $120T corporate treasury payments market,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bgarlinghouse\/status\/1978854410575814956\">said<\/a> CEO Brad Garlinghouse. \u201cAstounding amounts of cash are trapped in outdated payment systems, creating friction, unnecessary costs, and barriers to entering new markets,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>XRP DATs are pretty rare, with only sustainable-energy firm VivoPower International announcing a $121 million fundraising in May to pivot to investing in XRP.\u00a0Bitcoin and Ether DAT <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/nearly-all-eth-held-by-companies-was-purchased-in-past-quarter-alone\/\">momentum<\/a> has remained strong despite the recent market rout, with companies such as Tom Lee\u2019s BitMine aggressively <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bitmine-buys-the-dip-ethereum-stash-tops-3m-eth\/\">buying<\/a> the dip.<\/p>\n<p>BitMine has made two Ether purchases since the weekend leverage flush, adding more than 300,000 ETH to its monster stash.\u00a0Meanwhile, Strategy acquired 220 BTC for around $27 million earlier this week, bringing its total to a whopping 640,250 BTC worth around $70 billion at current market prices.<\/p>\n<h2>XRP Price Reaction<\/h2>\n<p>XRP markets did not <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-xrp-news-today-october-16\/\">react<\/a> to the news, and the asset has declined 5% on the day in a fall to $2.27 at the time of writing.<\/p>\n<p>The payment token fell to its lowest level since early July in late trading earlier today (excluding last Friday\u2019s flash crash to under $1 on some exchanges).
