However, those rumors were met with significant doubt, given Dimon\u2019s previous stance against the industry.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO has a rich history of criticising the largest cryptocurrency by market cap.\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">Some of his most colorful categorizations include\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/jpmorgan-ceo-slams-crypto-again-calls-bitcoin-decentralized-ponzi-scheme\/\" target=\"_blank\">calling<\/a> bitcoin a \u201cdecentralized Ponzi scheme\u201d and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/only-criminals-have-a-real-use-for-bitcoin-according-to-jamie-dimon\/\" target=\"_blank\">alleging<\/a> that only criminals use it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, his stance softened in the past few years, especially since Donald Trump\u2019s presidential election victory in late 2024 and the subsequent regulatory change in the country. Although he remained a skeptic, Dimon <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/jamie-dimon-says-hell-defend-your-right-to-buy-bitcoin-after-price-pump\/\">said<\/a> he would defend people\u2019s right to buy bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>JPMorgan is far from the first giant US banking institution to join the cryptocurrency craze.
