The Ethereum founder says it&#8217;s time for a new &#8220;low-risk DeFi.&#8221; After October&#8217;s $20B liquidation cascade and last week&#8217;s $100 million Balancer ($BAL) hack, the argument seems more cogent than ever.<\/p>\n<p>In his words,\u00a0<em>&#8220;low-risk DeFi can be for Ethereum what search was for Google,&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0a foundational use case that generates sustainable revenue to support the broader ecosystem. In practice, that would make DeFi less yield farm casino, more on-chain savings account. But the community is split. Where supporters see stability, blockchain purists see TradFi capture.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is to make DeFi, frankly, more boring, reliable, and auditable \u2013 the kind of finance pension funds could touch.
