Why Nov. 13 Could Be the Day Ripple Investors Have Waited For"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>After numerous delays over the past few years, lawsuit battles, regulatory changes, and recent filing updates, the first ETF to hold 100% XRP tokens is anticipated to debut in the United States on November 13.<\/p>\n<p>XRP\u2019s price has been quite volatile in the past several days leading up to the event, while whales seem to be preparing for a sell-the-news type of launch.<\/p>\n<h2>Latest on the XRP ETF Front<\/h2>\n<p>The US Securities and Exchange Commission delayed making a decision on countless XRP ETF applications in the past several months, but the government\u2019s shutdown opened the door for some amendments that could bypass the regulator, at least in the most common form.<\/p>\n<p>Canary Capital was the first to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/spot-xrp-etf-to-launch-on-november-13-heres-the-latest-big-update\/\">remove<\/a> the \u201cdelayment amendment\u201d from its filing, a move that was followed by other issuers as well. It signals that the product is ready to be launched and will be in 20 days unless the SEC objects or the Nasdaq fails to approve the 8-A filing.<\/p>\n<p>Eleanor Terrett outlined yesterday that Canary filed its Form 8-A with the Nasdaq, which she <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EleanorTerrett\/status\/1988266467071041768\">described<\/a> as the \u201cfinal step before it [Canary\u2019s XRP ETF] goes effective at 5:30 PM ET Wednesday.\u201d Once the Nasdaq certifies the listing, the spot XRP ETF will be \u201cset to launch Thursday at market open.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg\u2019s ETF expert Eric Balchunas confirmed Terrett\u2019s prediction, noting that it\u2019s not a \u201cdone deal, but all boxes [are] being checked.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Canary filed 8A for XRP ETF last night, which points to launch tomorrow or Thursday (today is holiday). Thursday was the day we thought they\u2019d be on track for but when they did the 8A for HBAR they launched the next day. Not done deal but all boxes being checked. She <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EleanorTerrett\/status\/1988388194359144838\">said<\/a> the former is a pure-play 33 Act XRP ETF with 100% exposure to Ripple\u2019s token, while the latter came under the Investment Company (\u201940) Act with \u201cpartial\u201d spot XRP exposure and less efficient tax treatment.<\/p>\n<h2>XRP Whales Keep Selling?<\/h2>\n<p>Ripple whales went on an accumulation spree after last year\u2019s presidential elections and were the main culprit behind the asset\u2019s massive surge to $3.40 in January and a new all-time high of $3.65 in July.
