Evernorth chief executive Asheesh Birla says the company\u2019s planned $1 billion war chest for XRP is only a starting line, outlining an active-management strategy designed to recycle yield into additional purchases and position the treasury vehicle for a Nasdaq debut under the ticker XRPN in the first quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n

In a new interview<\/a> on the Thinking Crypto podcast, Birla confirmed that Evernorth\u2019s capital plan<\/a> is open-ended rather than capped. \u201cWe don\u2019t have any plans to stop [\u2026] the idea is not to stop at a billion in treasury,\u201d he said, adding that the firm will pursue additional opportunities to scale once its initial transaction closes.<\/p>\n

Evernorth\u2019s XRP Strategy<\/h2>\n

Birla framed Evernorth as a pure-play digital asset treasury\u2014\u201c100% focused on XRP\u201d\u2014built to make institutional and mainstream exposure \u201cas easy as buying Tesla stock in your brokerage account.\u201d He said Evernorth\u2019s model differs from passive products because it will deploy the tokens across both traditional finance and DeFi strategies, with a single yardstick for success: \u201cThe metric we are maximizing for is XRP per share.\u201d He was explicit that cash flows generated by those strategies won\u2019t be paid out as dividends but instead will be redeployed into the core asset. \u201cWe\u2019ll use that yield to buy more XRP for the treasury.\u201d<\/p>\n

On trading venue plans, Birla clarified the timeline that sparked recent attention: \u201cYou saw the ticker symbol XRPN go live [\u2026] we expect that to happen sometime in quarter 1 of 2026.\u201d At launch, he said, investors who can access Nasdaq through standard brokerage platforms would be able to buy the stock, with international market expansion\u2014especially Japan and Korea\u2014set as a near-term priority. \u201cHaving SBI participate in Evernorth\u2019s financing is going to potentially help unlock those Asian markets for us,\u201d he noted, citing a backer list that includes SBI, Ripple, and Arrington Capital.<\/p>\n

The buying program itself will use multiple routes to market. \u201cWe\u2019ll be using all mechanisms available to buy XRP [\u2026] we want to make sure that we\u2019re balanced and measured,\u201d Birla explained, highlighting how improved market depth and \u201chundreds\u201d of global trading venues make accumulation more practical today than in crypto\u2019s early exchange era. He also pointed to the asset\u2019s liquidity profile as a draw for an active treasury, saying it ranks among the top traded digital assets by volume on many venues.<\/p>\n

A significant plank of Evernorth\u2019s edge, Birla argued, is its plan to originate and participate in on-ledger yield. \u201cWe\u2019re cultivating yield strategies directly on the XRP Ledger,\u201d he said, describing ongoing discussions with protocols\u2014including Flare\u2014once the initial transaction is completed. The intent is to create a bridge for \u201creal capital\u201d into native DeFi, which he believes has matured enough to compete with traditional finance but still lacks the institutional adapters that accelerate growth.<\/p>\n

Stablecoins are a key part of that plumbing, and Birla suggested Ripple\u2019s RLUSD<\/a>\u2014which he described as \u201cgrowing really quickly\u201d\u2014will likely be used as an on- and off-ramp for DeFi participation, while stressing Evernorth will still optimize its balance sheet around the token: \u201cWe want to make sure that we are optimizing for XRP [\u2026] I have a feeling that Ripple RLUSD [\u2026] is going to play a big part in that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Birla positioned the timing as favorable, crediting a policy turn in the United States and abroad. He cited the stablecoin-focused Genius Act<\/a>\u2019s passage and the prospect of broader market-structure legislation such as the Clarity Act<\/a> as catalysts that could mirror the internet\u2019s regulatory tailwinds in the 1990s. \u201cGood regulation, good legislation helps spur innovation and growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He contrasted Evernorth\u2019s active approach with potential exchange-traded funds, saying both can coexist. \u201cOne big difference between an ETF and a digital asset treasury like Evernorth is that [\u2026] it\u2019s an active treasury. We are going to be looking at yield strategies to maximize XRP per share.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about risk management through a downturn, Birla pointed to experience and tooling rather than market timing. \u201cSome of the best opportunities are available in downturns,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re busy thinking about how to build the right kind of risk tools [\u2026] measure twice and cut once.\u201d<\/p>\n

The strategic throughline is straightforward: accumulate and actively deploy XRP, reinvest proceeds into more XRP, and list a publicly tradable equity that packages this exposure for institutions and mainstream brokerage users. Or, as Birla put it, \u201cLet\u2019s make it as easy as buying [a] stock [\u2026] just like you buy that stock, you can buy [XRPN] and you get exposure to XRP as an asset class.\u201d And on the accumulation plan itself, he left little doubt about the trajectory: \u201c$1 billion\u201d is a milestone\u2014not a ceiling.<\/p>\n
