The message was blunt and aimed squarely at issuers that operate without strict oversight.<\/p>\n<h2>Regulators Draw A Clear Line<\/h2>\n<p>According to Monetary Authority of Singapore Managing Director Chia Der Jiun, some unregulated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/business\/companies-markets\/regulated-stablecoins-offer-value-stability-says-mas-chief-chia-der-jiun?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">stablecoins<\/a> have a \u201cpatchy record of keeping their peg.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mas.gov.sg\/news\/speeches\/2025\/creating-the-future-of-finance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">warned<\/a> that sudden losses of confidence in those tokens can resemble money-market fund runs from 2008. The framework sets reserve backing and redemption reliability as the main tests for eligibility. In short: issuers must show credible backing and practical ways for users to redeem tokens.<\/p>\n<p>Over time, Chia said, if certain stablecoins grow big enough to affect the wider system, rules will need tightening and cross-border cooperation will be required. Access to central bank facilities was mentioned as a possible future step for truly systemic tokens.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/x\/S6Up34FZ\/\" width=\"2048\" height=\"985\"><br \/>\nNumbers Point To Bigger Stakes<\/p>\n<p>According to a Binance Research report, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/markets\/news\/global-stablecoin-market-crosses-300-billion-in-m-cap-says-report-125111301924_1.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">global stablecoin market<\/a> passed $300 billion in total capitalization in October 2025. Daily average transaction volumes reached $3.1 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Monthly stablecoin payments have topped $10 billion as of August 2025, with 63% of that volume tied to B2B activity.
