Back on May 15, 2020, Rowling was tagged in a Bitcoin-related post on Twitter, now called X. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t understand Bitcoin. Please explain it to me,\u201d the British novelist asked inquisitively. This post quickly went viral, eliciting thousands of responses from cryptocurrency enthusiasts. <\/p>\n

Among the many responders was Vitalik Buterin<\/strong>, early blockchain pioneer and co-founder of Ethereum <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>ETH<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a digital currency. There\u2019s ~18m units of it. It\u2019s not backed by anything, it\u2019s just valuable because it is, like collectibles,\u201d Buterin explained.<\/p>\n
