Economist\u00a0Peter Schiff<\/strong>\u00a0predicted on Wednesday that things would get \u201cfar worse\u201d for Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>BTC<\/a>) once it fell below $88,000.<\/p>\n

2026 To Be \u2018Far Worse?\u2019<\/h2>\n

In an X post, Schiff noted that the apex cryptocurrency had fallen\u00a0nearly 30% from its high\u00a0in dollars and 42% from\u00a0its high priced in gold<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many people popping champagne corks at Bitcoin $100,000 parties a year ago expected 2025 to be this bad?\u201d Schiff said, in what looked like a veiled swipe<\/a> at Bitcoin bull Michael Saylor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Schiff predicted that Bitcoin would face serious problems if it fell below $88,000, adding that 2026 \u201ccould be far worse.\u201d<\/p>\n
