Numerai<\/a>, a San Francisco\u2013based hedge fund and data science tournament uniting machine learning, decentralized finance, and cryptocurrency incentives, today announced a $30 million Series C<\/a> financing round led by top university endowments. The round values Numerai at $500 million, five times its 2023 valuation.<\/p>\n

J.P. Morgan Asset Management\u2019s August 2025 commitment<\/a> of up to $500 million in Numerai\u2019s hedge fund capacity, together with the new equity financing, provides Numerai with additional resources to scale its AI-driven strategies toward nearly $1 billion in assets under management (AUM).<\/p>\n

Existing investors \u2014 including Union Square Ventures, Shine Capital, and macro investor Paul Tudor Jones \u2014 also participated in the round. Alongside J.P. Morgan Asset Management, they represent leading endowments, venture capital firms, and global macro investors that have supported Numerai\u2019s development over multiple funding rounds.<\/p>\n

The new capital will be used to expand Numerai\u2019s AI engineering and research teams, increase hiring across key functions, grow participation in its global data science tournament, and support the scaling of its institutional hedge fund products.<\/p>\n

Over the past three years, Numerai has grown assets under management from approximately $60 million to $550 million. In 2024, its flagship global equity hedge fund delivered a net return of 25.45% with a single down month, the strongest year in the firm\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
