European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde<\/strong> has been a long-time critic of Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>BTC<\/a>), and reaffirmed her skepticism recently despite the asset\u2019s growth over the years.<\/p>\n

Lagarde Repeats Bitcoin Is \u2018Worth Nothing\u2019<\/h2>\n

Appearing on the College Leaders in Finance podcast on Oct. 5, Lagarde was reminded of the remarks she made about Bitcoin three years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would not put my finger in there. I\u2019ve said all along that crypto assets are highly speculative, very risky assets,\u201d Lagarde said in May 2022. \u201cMy very humble assessment is that it is worth nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recalling her words, Lagarde said she would \u201crepeat exactly the same thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
