Japanese investment firm Metaplanet\u2019s CEO Simon Gerovich revealed that the company has ambitious goals with a strategic focus on Bitcoin for 2025.<\/p>\n

In his latest tweet, the exec announced plans to expand Metaplanet\u2019s Bitcoin holdings to 10,000 BTC.<\/p>\n

Metaplanet\u2019s Bitcoin Expansion<\/h2>\n

To achieve the 10k BTC milestone, Gerovich said<\/a> that the company plans to utilize accretive capital market tools. The focus will also be on enhancing transparency and shareholder engagement through new initiatives.<\/p>\n

The firm aims to leverage partnerships to drive Bitcoin adoption not just in Japan but across the world as well. Additionally, Metaplanet will explore opportunities to deepen its impact on the Japanese market and the broader Bitcoin ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Gerovich had previously stated\u00a0<\/a>that if the United States adopts Bitcoin as a strategic reserve, it could ignite a global domino effect and would ultimately prompt other nations to follow suit. He highlighted Japan as a prime example, describing it as a country that often looks to the US for guidance.<\/p>\n

The Metaplanet exec had also expressed confidence that if the US under President Trump takes this step, Japan and other Asian countries are likely to mirror the move. These comments were made during Michael Saylor\u2019s Bitcoin New Year\u2019s Eve party in Florida, where discussions centered on the growing influence of Bitcoin in global economic strategies.<\/p>\n

2025: \u201cArrival of Corporates\u201d<\/h2>\n

Meanwhile, Gerovich\u2019s revelations for 2025 come a fortnight after Metaplanet purchased<\/a> 619.7 BTC in its largest-ever acquisition as part of its Bitcoin Treasury Operations. This stash was worth around $60.6 million at that time. The subsequent purchases have pushed the Tokyo-listed firm holdings to 1,761 BTC.<\/p>\n

Experts suggest<\/a> that a major theme in 2025 could be the \u201carrival of corporates\u201d amidst the increasing trend of corporations adopting Bitcoin as a reserve asset. Among the top corporate holders of Bitcoin, MicroStrategy leads the pack at 446,400 BTC, followed by Marathon Digital with 44,394 BTC and Riot with 17,429 BTC. Metaplanet is currently in the 15th position behind Semler Scientific and Exodus.<\/p>\n
