The POTUS suggested that the rates could be at 1% or even lower next year, which would mean significant reductions from the 3.50% \u2013 3.75%.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">BREAKING: President Trump is asked where he wants interest rates to be next year.<\/p>\n<p>His response: \u201c1% and maybe lower than that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t own enough assets. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XS3aPViKsv\">pic.twitter.com\/XS3aPViKsv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Kobeissi Letter (@KobeissiLetter) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KobeissiLetter\/status\/1999584404814057970?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 12, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Later on, Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/12\/12\/trump-starting-land-strikes-drugs-venezuela-latin-america-maduro\/\">warned<\/a> that the US would start land strikes against drug operations in Latin America, and in Venezuela in particular. Nevertheless, he noted that the Maduro-led nation is not the only supposed perpetrator, and added that \u201cpeople that are bringing in drugs to our country are targets.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe knocked out 96% of the drugs coming in by water, and now we\u2019re starting by land, and by land is a lot easier, and that\u2019s going to start happening,\u201d Trump commented in front of reporters on Friday.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>His latest remarks came after the US initiated numerous attacks against what he referred to as drug-smuggling boats in international waters off the coast of South America.<\/p>\n<p>The US has reportedly killed over 80 people with its strikes in the region, and just recently seized an oil tanker near Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p>Despite both of these major statements from Trump, BTC\u2019s price remains relatively stable at just over $90,000.
