{"id":63942,"date":"2025-12-17T08:16:39","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T08:16:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=63942"},"modified":"2025-12-17T08:16:39","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T08:16:39","slug":"trump-set-to-interview-pro-crypto-christopher-waller-for-fed-chair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=63942","title":{"rendered":"Trump Set to Interview Pro-Crypto Christopher Waller for Fed Chair"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The interview for the new prospective chairman of America\u2019s central bank will happen on Wednesday, reported the WSJ, citing people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-crypto Waller, whom Trump originally appointed to the Fed board in 2020, has been a leading advocate for rate cuts this year and could take over when Jerome Powell\u2019s term ends in May 2026.\u00a0He is favored by Wall Street economists for his consistent policy arguments, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/economy\/central-banking\/trump-set-to-interview-feds-christopher-waller-for-chair-a732faff\">according<\/a> to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Trump interviewed former Fed governor Kevin Warsh and director of the National Economic Council, Kevin Hassett, both of whom are high on the list for the job.\u00a0Poylmarket prediction <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/who-will-trump-nominate-as-fed-chair?tid=1765948289242\">polls<\/a> currently have Hassett on 53%, Warsh at 29%, and Waller with a 15.3% probability of nomination.<\/p>\n<h2>A Welcome Move For Crypto<\/h2>\n<p>The crypto industry would welcome the move, as Waller could usher in master accounts for crypto companies, said Caitlin Long, founder and CEO of Cusodia Bank.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe timing couldn\u2019t be better \u2013 tomorrow is his interview for Fed chair; he deserves strong consideration,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I\u2019M EXCITED TO SEE THIS, as there\u2019s *finally* some movement on Fed master accounts for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/crypto?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#crypto<\/a>-native companies &amp; Waller is one of the key architects of this at the Fed. That is likely what got Trump\u2019s attention,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZhouJaron\/status\/2001118353302102048\">said<\/a> Jaron Zhou, head of politics at Kalshi.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>All Change at the Fed<\/h2>\n<p>Trump is eager to replace Jerome Powell, whom he has labelled \u201ctoo slow\u201d over his <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bitcoin-drops-as-federal-reserve-announces-no-rate-cuts-in-june\/\">delays<\/a> in reducing interest rates. However, Powell remained hawkish following his most <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/will-the-fed-rate-decision-move-crypto-markets-this-week\/\">recent<\/a> rate cut.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump\u2019s just going to replace him with a dove. So we\u2019re gonna get a lot of monetary stimulus.
