From now on, banks will be supervised the usual way, instead of through separate crypto-focused requirements.<\/p>\n<h2>Banks Can Now Move Faster With Crypto<\/h2>\n<p>The rules being withdrawn included a 2022 letter that told state member banks to notify the Fed before dealing with crypto, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/newsevents\/pressreleases\/files\/bcreg20250424a4.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">2023 letter<\/a> that required approval before handling dollar tokens. The FDIC and the OCC also withdrew two 2023 statements about crypto risks. Those <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/newsevents\/pressreleases\/bcreg20230127a.htm?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">statements<\/a> had flagged issues like liquidity and governance risks in crypto banking. Banks don\u2019t need to send extra notifications or get prior approval for crypto activities anymore. That includes things like custody, trading, or settlement of digital assets. There aren\u2019t new rules being added \u2014 it\u2019s just now part of normal oversight.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/x\/ugSGx7oL\/\" width=\"1835\" height=\"909\"><br \/>\nKey Dates And Actions<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/newsevents\/pressreleases\/bcreg20250424a.htm?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">important date<\/a> is April 24, 2025. They\u2019ve gained the ability to quickly develop, test, and manage digital assets.
